We are sad to announce the passing of David 'Dave' Marks, 67, on Nov. 18, 2022, in Columbus, Georgia. Dave thought himself quite the handy man (though most professionals might beg to differ), and his last moments were spent with his daughter and son in law helping to paint his grandson's bedroom.
Born in Royal Oak, Michigan on Aug. 21, 1955, Dave grew up in Livonia, Michigan, attended college at the University of Tennessee, and spent the majority of his life in Georgia.
Dave didn't like to take life too seriously and was always there for a good time. He was an amateur cartoonist, prankster and comedian, and could bring a laugh to most anyone. Dave enjoyed watching all sports, especially when it involved any Atlanta team and his Tennessee Vols. When he wasn't watching sports, his favorite place was sitting on his porch in Helen, Georgia.
He is survived by his former wife, Rosanne Marks; their daughters, Jessica Marks and Allison Walker (Alex); grandchildren, Audrey Marks and Ashton Walker; parents, Robert and Janet Marks; sister, Kathryn Wilds; nephews; Jeremy Wilds and Derek Wilds; and his two cats, Flash and Lil'Bit. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wendy Williams Marks.
Per Dave's wishes, the memorial service will be a private ceremony with close family members present. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's memory may be made to Feeding America or your local food bank.
